For our first post, I have chosen my home lounge. The beautiful Ellijay Cigar Lounge located in scenic Ellijay, Georgia. Located in an active agrotourism community in Northwest Georgia, this lounge, without a doubt, is one of the most visually appealing locations I have visited. Up a flight of stairs, walking in you are greeted by a knowledgeable staff, comfortable seating, including a patio with skylights and open views of the town square and mountains in the distance. Whether you are there wanting to smoke and contemplate, work on your laptop, enjoy friends you brought, or make new friends out of the regulars that are present, there is a spot for you!
Beverage options include multiple varieties of French pressed coffee, freshly ground at the time of your order, several soda options featuring craft varieties, and water. Although alcohol is not served, 3 day and yearly memberships are offered allowing you to BYOB and pour on premises. Food is not served, however, there are multiple restaurants within a short walk (more on those later), and you are welcome to bring orders in to enjoy with your cigar or pipe.
The humidor is open and stocked with familiar favorites such as Perdomo, Padron, Foundation, GTO, Drew Estate, and, a new addition, Caldwell. Also featured is an up and coming cigar company, Liar’s Bench. You are sure to find something you like, or the staff can make a suggestion that will be sure to satisfy your discerning palate. The humidor is temperature and humidity controlled to ensure the cigars are in the best state for your enjoyment. Multiple pipe tobaccos are available, as well as pipes if you are just starting or looking for a new one. Also available is branded merchandise, shirts, hats, lighters, and cigar and pipe accessories.
Always a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, you will typically be encounter the regular crowd with a warm “hello”. If you come in to enjoy a stick or pipe, you are sure to want to make it a regular stop.
Close by you have restaurants including Mountain View Artisanal (custom charcuterie), Cantaberry Ellijay, Ellijay Woodfired Pizza, River Street Tavern, The Roof, and more. Coffee shops, if French press is not your favorite, include The Sharp Sickle Ellijay, Das Kaffee Haus, and Mountain Town Coffee at Hemlock Bazaar. For adult beverages, The Door and the soon to be opened Buckley Downtown await your pleasure. So many to list, and so little space, there are many more.
